C1 Overheating Error Code

I'm scratching my head over a weird issue with my 2007 Citroen C1 diesel. It's only done 31032 km. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the engine seems to be overheating. I've checked the usual suspects like coolant level, but no joy. Could it be a dodgy bypass valve? I've read that a coolant leak or power loss can trigger such an error. Anyone experienced something similar? I'm not experiencing engine stalling, which seems to be the next most prevalent symptom.

Bypass valve issues can definitely cause overheating. Is the error code specifically pointing to the valve, or could it be another sensor causing a consequential error?

Good point. The error code isn't explicitly mentioning the bypass valve, so could you elaborate on "another sensor causing a consequential error"? What other sensors could trigger the error and overheating combination?

I had a similar issue in a different car, and the error led me to believe I had a serious problem, but in the end, it was a faulty temperature sensor giving false readings. It can happen. I'd suggest a workshop visit to confirm.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on - it turned out to be a faulty sensor giving incorrect readings, triggering a cascade of errors. The bypass valve was fine. Repair cost: 0€ because it was under warranty. Appreciate the pointer!
