Thanks! I checked the connections as best I could, but didn't see anything obvious. Where exactly is the antenna grounding point located? Is it easy to access?

Finding the exact location of the antenna grounding point requires a schematic for your car's model year. It's best to ask a certified mechanic. They have special tools to fix tricky electrical problems, which could save you money in the long run. In my case, the antenna was broken and needed to be replaced.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to a workshop and you were right – the antenna was defective. Cost me 255€ to replace. Radio's working perfectly now.

I encountered a similar problem in my Citroen C1. Have you checked the antenna connection? Look at the coaxial cable for any breaks or damage. Also, check the antenna's grounding point to make sure it's firmly attached to the car's chassis. A bad ground can cause weak signal and more static.
