C1 Whistling Noise and Jerky Acceleration

My 2006 Citroen C1 diesel is acting up. The check engine light is on, and it feels like I'm riding a bucking bronco when I try to accelerate. Plus, there's this crazy whistling and loud hissing noise when I put my foot down. Sometimes it even stalls at idle! Fuel consumption is through the roof and it feels like I'm driving with half the horsepower I used to have. Any ideas? Could it be the boost sensor? I checked the cable and plug; they look okay, but you never know...

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my C1. Jerky acceleration and weird noises. Check the boost pressure sensor; that was the culprit in my case.

Interesting! So, when you say boost pressure sensor, was it obviously broken, or did you need to test it somehow? Was it like trying to find a needle in a haystack?

Nah, couldn't see anything obvious. Just took it to a workshop, and they diagnosed it pretty quickly. They replaced the sensor, and all good since then.

I'll get it checked out at the workshop. Turns out it was indeed the boost pressure sensor. Cable or plug connection of the component defective, like I thought! They charged me 95€, but at least it's fixed now. No more whistling C1!
