C2 Headlight Range Control Fault

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2009 Citroen C2, it's a gasoline engine. The headlight range control seems to be faulty. I get an error in the memory and a warning light on the dash. The low beams are either pointing way too low or way too high, it's all over the place! Any ideas? The car only has 52019 km on it!

Summary of the thread

A 2009 Citroen C2 is experiencing a headlight range control fault, with the low beams adjusting erratically and a warning light on the dashboard. The issue is likely due to a defective servomotor in the headlight assembly. The recommended solution is to consult a certified repair shop for diagnostics and repair, which was confirmed to be the correct approach, resulting in the replacement of the faulty servomotor.

I experienced similar problems on my Volvo V70. The error message pointed towards auto-leveling malfunction and erratic beam adjustment.

Oh really? What was the culprit in your case? Was it difficult to diagnose?

The most probable cause is a defective servomotor in the headlight assembly. Due to the complexity of the system, I recommend consulting a certified repair shop for diagnostics and repair.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Defective servomotor. Ended up costing me 1040€ to fix, ouch!
