C2 Overheating Speed Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Citroen C2 is experiencing severe overheating, with the check engine light on and the radiator fan not activating despite normal coolant levels. The issue is suspected to be a defective speed sensor, which can prevent the fan from spinning when the engine is hot. A similar case confirmed that the speed sensor was indeed the cause, and replacing it resolved the overheating problem.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Temperature control weird? Not that I recall. It seemed to run normally. Is there anything else I should check before taking it to a garage? I'm thinking it really is a defective speed sensor messing with the whole cooling system.

I remember now that I had to go to the workshop for the same problem. Apparently, the speed sensor was causing the car radiator fan not to activate. I would suggest you do the same.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was indeed the speed sensor. Cost me around 250€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar overheating problem with my C2 a while back. Was the temperature control acting weird before the overheating started? It might give us a clue about what's going on with your car radiator.
