C3 alarm system malfunction

I have a 2006 Citroen C3 diesel with 225456 km on the clock. The additional battery alarm system is defective. Error is stored in the error memory and the alarm system isn't working. I suspect the battery is discharged due to ageing. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I have a Citroen C3 as well, and I had similar issues with the alarm system. The battery signal was constantly on, and it turned out that the car battery was the problem. Have you had your car battery checked recently?

No, I haven't checked the battery yet. Was the battery check enough to solve the problem or did you need to replace it?

In my case, replacing the car battery solved the issue completely. Although, if the car battery is fine, you might need to go to a workshop. It could be a deeper electrical issue. But start with the battery check!

Thanks for the tip! I had the battery checked and it was indeed the issue. Replacing it cost me 330€ but now everything is working as expected.
