C30 DPF Exhaust Sensor

Thanks for the quick reply! I did have a quick look at the connections, but couldn't see anything obvious. I mostly do shorter trips around town, with the occasional longer motorway run. Could that be contributing?

Short trips are definitely not ideal for a diesel; the DPF doesn't get hot enough to regenerate properly, which can put extra strain on the exhaust sensor. Given you've checked the connections, it probably is the sensor itself. Best bet is to get it checked by a proper workshop. Better safe than sorry when it comes to emission control!

I appreciate the advice. Took it to the garage and you were spot on the exhaust back pressure sensor was bad. Cost me 245€ to get sorted, but at least the smoke screen has gone!

I had a similar issue with my C30. The symptoms sound identical. Did you try checking the sensor connections? Sometimes a loose connection can cause those issues. Also, what kind of driving do you typically do?
