C30 Heating Output Pathetic

Hi, I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2010 Volvo C30 diesel. The heating output is pathetic, barely lukewarm even on max. I've also got an error code stored, pointing towards the water valve. I suspect a dodgy connection, maybe a frayed cable or corroded plug, playing havoc with the valve's operation. It's like trying to warm the car with a hairdryer on low! Any ideas before I start tearing the dash apart?

Sounds like a sticky water valve, especially with the error code. Is the engine coolant level correct? A low coolant level can cause similar heating issues. Have you checked the valve itself for any obvious blockages or damage?

Coolant level is spot on, so I can rule that out. When you say 'obvious blockages,' what exactly should I be looking for? I mean, aside from a family of squirrels taking up residence inside the valve!

Things like debris restricting the valve's movement. If you are not confident with electrics I would go to the workshop. It is a quick repair and should not be too expensive.

Thanks for the advice. Dropped it off at the local garage this morning. They confirmed it was the water valve – faulty connection as suspected. 95€ all in. Much appreciated!
