C30 IAT sensor issue

Check engine light on my 2010 Volvo C30 gasoline engine, power reduced, rough running, and an error stored. I suspect a faulty intake air temperature sensor. Anyone seen this?

I own a C30 too (not a 2010), and this rings a bell. Sounds like trying to bake a cake with a broken oven thermometer! I had something similar. Did you check the temperature readings from the IAT sensor? Are they plausible, or completely off?

I did check the temperature readings, and they seem erratic and inconsistent. Could you give me more detail about the issue you experienced? Was it definitely the IAT sensor?

Yep. It was the IAT sensor. The readings were all over the place, like trying to follow a hummingbird. I replaced the sensor, and the problem disappeared. Unless you know what you're doing, I'd suggest taking your Volvo to a workshop. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the confirmation. Based on your experience and the symptoms, I'll replace the IAT sensor. I took your advice and went to the workshop, and it was indeed the IAT sensor, as you suggested. The final repair cost was 155€ Thank you for your time!
