C4 Power Windows Failure

I'm encountering a vexing predicament with my 2018 Citroen C4, gasoline engine. The power windows have abruptly ceased functioning. I've checked the vehicle's error memory and there's an error indicating a potential malfunction within the window regulator circuit. Diagnostics suggest the power window switch itself may be the culprit. Has anyone else experienced such an infuriating problem with their C4's window mechanism? I'm particularly interested in hearing about potential solutions, especially considering the window track, regulator motor, and overall power windows system.

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Citroen C4 experienced a sudden failure of the power windows, with diagnostics indicating a potential malfunction in the window regulator circuit. The issue was suspected to be with the power window switch. After checking the fuses and considering the abrupt nature of the failure, it was advised to have the vehicle inspected by a workshop. The workshop confirmed the problem was indeed a defective power window switch, which was then replaced to resolve the issue.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I have a C4 too and had something similar happen. All the windows just stopped responding. Have you checked the fuses? That's the first thing I did, but it didn't solve my issue. It might be something simple like that though. Did the windows start acting up gradually, or did they just suddenly fail?

I did inspect the fuses, but they appear to be in perfect working order. The failure was quite abrupt. One moment, the windows responded; the next, they were as inert as granite. Given the suddenness of the cessation, do you still suspect the switch itself, or could it be something more sinister, lurking within the regulator motor or window track?

Okay, abrupt failure definitely sounds like the same problem I had. For me, it ended up being a defective window regulator. Considering you've already checked the fuses, and it was sudden, I'd say it's worth getting it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose whether it's the regulator motor or something else in the window mechanism. I wouldn't risk messing with the window track yourself unless you really know what you're doing.

I heeded your advice and sought the diagnostic prowess of a reputable workshop. As you prognosticated, the issue resided within the power window switch, which was indeed defective. The repair, including the replacement of the component, amounted to 200€. Your insights proved invaluable in expediting the resolution of this vexing matter.
