C5 Electrical Malfunctions and Battery Issues

I've got a 2008 Citroen C5 with a diesel engine. Getting an error message on the speedometer, plus there's an error stored. The battery seems weak on startup, and there are occasional electrical issues. Suspect the auxiliary battery isn't charging. Anyone seen this?

Hey, I have a C5 as well. Sounds very familiar! I had a similar problem last year – constant errors and a sluggish start. Did you check the battery voltage? Mine was dropping way too low when I tried to start the car. It drove me crazy for weeks.

Thanks! I haven't checked the voltage directly, but that's a good idea. What do you mean by 'dropping way too low'? What voltage did you see, and what's a normal range?

Can't remember the exact voltage now, it was a while ago. But it was definitely below what it should be when starting. Honestly, after fiddling with it for a bit, I just took it to a workshop. They diagnosed a faulty auxiliary battery pretty quickly. Best to let them check all electrics. It's not worth getting stranded.

Understood. Thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a mechanic to have the battery and charging system checked. Appreciate your help!
