C6 Height Control Restricted

Citroen C6, built in 2009, diesel engine. Mileage: 34254 km. Height control restricted. I'm seeing the warning light and the low beam shines too far down. The car stands uneven. Error memory has a stored error. The ride is also bumpy. My suspicion is a defective control rod on the height sensor. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my C6. Uneven height, bumpy ride... Was the error message related to the leveling system? Have you checked the sensor connections? Sometimes a loose connection can cause weird issues with the height adjustment system.

Yes, the error message points directly to the leveling system. Sensor connections look fine at first glance. Is it definitely the control rod on the sensor that was defective in your case?

Yes, definitely sounds like my issue. From memory the error code pointed to the sensor but the actual problem was the rod itself. It's a small part, but it throws the whole system out of whack. You could try to replace it yourself if you're handy, but I'd probably suggest a workshop. They can properly diagnose and replace it.

Thanks for the confirmation! Based on your experience and the symptoms, I'll order a new control rod. Repair cost around 110€. I'll let the workshop handle the replacement and recalibration. Appreciate the help!
