C6 Rail Pressure Sensor Fault

I did inspect the wiring harness and connections to the rail pressure sensor, and they appear to be intact and free from corrosion. I even applied some electrical contact cleaner. The specific error code I'm receiving is P0192, indicating a low fuel rail pressure sensor input. Could there be any other potential causes besides a faulty sensor itself, given this specific error code?

Given that you've checked the wiring and are receiving the P0192 code, it does seem highly probable that the pressure sensor is indeed defective. While other possibilities exist, such as a fuel pump issue, the P0192 code strongly suggests the sensor. Given the cost of further diagnostics versus the sensor itself, it might be prudent to replace the sensor. If the issue persists after replacement, I would recommend visiting a qualified workshop for further diagnostics.

I replaced the rail pressure sensor, which cost me approximately 240€. Fortunately, the engine now runs smoothly, and the check engine light has extinguished itself. The error code is gone as well. Your guidance has been invaluable in resolving this issue.

The symptoms do point towards a potential issue with the rail pressure sensor. The engine stalling at idle and the reduced power are classic indicators. Have you checked the wiring and connections to the sensor? A loose or corroded connection can sometimes mimic a faulty sensor signal. Also, what specific error code are you receiving from your OBD scanner?
