C70 NOx Sensor Exhaust Leak

I'm pulling my hair out! My 2009 Volvo C70 with a gasoline engine has a check engine light and NOx sensor failure. I also hear a slight exhaust leak, but I can't pinpoint it. I checked the sensor connections, and they look ok, but I suspect a defective cable or plug. Has anyone else run into this?

I had a similar issue with my C70. Check Engine light popped up, and it turned out to be the NOx sensor. Are you experiencing any rough idling or decreased fuel efficiency besides the exhaust smell?

Thanks! No rough idling or noticeable drop in fuel efficiency, just the light, the error code, and the faint exhaust smell. Where was the leak coming from on yours? Did you replace the sensor yourself, or did you take it to a shop?

Given that you suspect a cable or plug issue, and you're smelling exhaust, it's best to take it to a workshop. I had a similar suspicion and after inspecting the sensor connections, the mechanics replaced the faulty sensor and repaired the connection. The repair was around 95€.

Okay, I appreciate the advice! I was hoping to avoid the shop, but it sounds like that's the smart move. I'll take it in and have them check the sensor and connections thoroughly. Thanks again!
