C8 Headlight Range Control Issue

I'm pulling my hair out! My 2007 Citroen C8 diesel is giving me grief. The headlight range control is borked. I keep getting an error and a warning light. The low beams are either pointing way too low or way too high. I've checked the headlight switch and electrical connectors, but no luck. Anyone else had this happen?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my C8. First, have you checked the servomotor in the headlight itself? It's usually the culprit when the auto-leveling goes haywire. Is the light intensity acting up too?

Servomotor, huh? Where exactly is that located, and how would I check if it's working properly? And yeah, the light intensity seems off as well. Sometimes it's bright, sometimes dim. Could that be related?

Yep, sounds like the servomotor is toast. It's built into the headlight unit. Honestly, unless you're a whiz with electronics, you're probably better off taking it to a workshop. They'll have the tools to properly diagnose and replace it. Mine was doing the exact same thing, flickering and all.

Thanks a bunch for the advice! Sounds like I'm heading to the shop then. Just got a quote: 1040€ for the whole repair, ouch! At least I know what the problem is now. Cheers!
