Thanks! When you say 'compromised continuity', do you mean a break in the wire, or corrosion on the connector pins, or something else? Any specific areas you'd suggest I focus on?

My assessment indicated a potential for both scenarios. A fractured conductor within the harness, potentially induced by thermal cycling or mechanical stress, cannot be discounted. Concurrently, oxidation on the connector pins, exacerbated by galvanic corrosion, may manifest as elevated resistance. I suggest, due to the complexity of modern automotive electrical systems, you seek a qualified technician to carry out diagnostic procedures, which will probably lead to a bill for around 95€.

Okay, thanks. Sounds like it could be more involved than I thought. I'll take it to a workshop to have them check the wiring and connections properly.

Greetings. I have observed comparable symptoms in my Citroen C8. My diagnostic protocol revealed a defective signal emanating from the oil level sensor. Initial findings suggested the anomaly originated from compromised continuity within the cable harness and the associated plug connector. I recommend you consult the wiring diagrams to confirm that.
