Camry Crankshaft Sensor Issues

I'm having an issue with my 2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid. It's got about 53,704 km on it. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed a real drop in engine power and responsiveness. Fuel consumption is also up. I ran a scan and it's showing a 'Crankshaft to Camshaft Reference Value' error. Could a defective crankshaft sensor cause these symptoms?

I had a similar problem with my Camry. Those symptoms sound familiar. Was there any misfiring?

Misfiring... not that I've noticed specifically, but the engine definitely feels rougher than usual. Does that sound like what you experienced? What was the fix?

Yeah, the rough engine is a good indicator. Get the crankshaft sensor checked out. A faulty sensor messes up the engine synchronization. Take it to a trusted workshop. They will solve it.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The crankshaft sensor was indeed defective. Replacing it cost me 340€, but it solved all the issues. Runs like new now!
