Camry Overheating Electric Fan Issue

My 2006 Toyota Camry (gasoline engine) is overheating with 177710 km. The engine temperature is climbing, and I think it's the electric fan. It doesn't seem to be spinning correctly. Maybe a defective cable or plug? Anyone seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2006 Toyota Camry is experiencing overheating issues, suspected to be due to a malfunctioning electric fan. The fan doesn't appear to be spinning correctly, potentially due to a defective cable or plug. A similar issue was resolved by inspecting the fan clutch and electric motor, with the latter being identified as faulty. It is recommended to have a professional workshop diagnose and repair the problem.

I had a similar overheating problem with my Camry. My issue was also the electric fan. Did you check the fan clutch or the electric motor itself? Maybe investigate those before the wiring.

Thanks! How did you test the fan clutch and motor to find the problem? What readings or visual cues should I look for?

I didn't do any testing myself. I visually inspected the fan clutch for damage, but saw nothing. I took it to a workshop, and they said the electric motor was faulty. Probably best to do the same.

Thanks for sharing! I'll take it to a workshop since it's beyond me. They estimated around 95€ for the repair, so hopefully it's just that. I'll post the result when it's fixed!
