Captur air flap fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Renault Captur with 99,739 km is experiencing an air flap fault, causing the check engine light to activate and the engine to overheat. The suspected cause is a defective electromechanism within the thermal management system. The suggested solution is to replace the entire air flap assembly, as cooling system issues should be addressed promptly to prevent further damage.

Yes, it's throwing a code related to the air flap electromechanism. Did you end up replacing the entire flap assembly, or was it something simpler?

Nah, sadly it wasn't simple. Had to replace the whole assembly. Honestly, with the overheating issue too, I'd just bite the bullet and get it sorted at a workshop. Cooling systems are not to mess with.

Thanks for the insight! I was hoping it would be a quick fix, but it sounds like I'm in for the full repair. I appreciate you sharing your experience. It's booked in at the workshop now, hopefully it sorts the overheating issue as well.

Ugh, air flaps! I had something similar happen on my Captur. Check engine light, the whole shebang. Was yours throwing any specific fault codes?
