Captur Audio System Failure

Good shout on the fuses, I'll definitely check those. But regarding the speakers, how would a single speaker cause the entire system to go mute? Wouldn't the other speakers still work?

Yeah, it does sound weird, I know. But if one of the speakers, especially the bass speaker, shorts out, it can sometimes trip the amplifier or even the head unit's protection circuit, effectively shutting down the whole audio output. If the fuses are fine and the head unit seems to be working, it might be worth getting a workshop to test the speakers and amp. It cost me 280€ when the bass speaker went bust last year. What do you think?

Okay, that makes sense. Looks like a trip to the mechanic is in order then. I'll get them to check the speakers and amp. Thanks for the heads-up about the possibility of a shorted speaker killing the whole system!

That's a bummer! First, have you checked the fuses related to the audio system? Also, did you notice any weird distortion or popping sounds from the speakers before this happened? Sometimes a failing speaker can take out the whole system. It's also worth checking if the head unit is actually powering on correctly.
