Captur Automatic Gearbox Problems

That's a fair point about the battery. I haven't looked at it closely yet. So, if it is the battery causing undervoltage, how does that actually mess with the gearbox? And would just a simple transmission fluid flush be enough, or are we talking about more serious repairs at this point? What could be the cost?

Undervoltage can indeed disrupt the sensitive electronic controls governing the transmission's shifting behavior. As for the repair needed and the exact cost, a diagnostic check at a reputable workshop is crucial. A transmission fluid flush might alleviate the symptoms if the fluid is contaminated or degraded. But if the underlying problem is a failing sensor, a malfunctioning solenoid, or something more mechanical, further repairs will be necessary. A diagnostic should help pinpoint the source of the problems.

Okay, appreciate the input. Dropped it off at the shop and, turns out, undervoltage was indeed the culprit. They checked the battery, found it was on its way out and replaced it. Then they did a transmission adaptation reset after a test drive. Picked it up today, shifts smooth as butter now. The bill was 240€ all in. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

The symptoms you describe do point towards a potential issue with the automatic transmission performance, specifically concerning the oil or control system. When was the last time you had the transmission fluid checked or changed? Do you know the current condition of your vehicle's battery, as undervoltage can affect electronic components, including those controlling the transmission? I agree that an automatic transmission oil flush could be a valid first step to assess the severity of the problem.
