Captur engine trouble

Having trouble with my 2014 Renault Captur (gasoline engine). 153011 km on it. Check engine light is on, engine stalls at idle sometimes, and I've noticed reduced engine power. I recently changed the fuel filter, and I'm wondering if I messed something up related to the fuel pressure regulator. Could that be it?

Sounds rough! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra after doing some fuel system work. Rough idle, engine misfire... turned out to be a pressure drop in the fuel line. Did you check the regulator itself for any obvious damage or loose connections?

I'll check the connections again. By 'pressure drop,' do you mean a leak somewhere, or is the regulator failing to maintain pressure even if there are no visible leaks?

Well, in my case, there weren't any visible leaks, but the fuel pressure wasn't consistent. The garage guys said the regulator was faulty and causing the pressure fluctuations. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked professionally; fuel systems can be tricky.

You were spot on! Took it to a shop, and it was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. Error entry after changing the fuel filter was probably a red herring. New regulator cost me 45€ installed. Runs like a champ now. Thanks for the advice!
