Captur Fog Sensor Air Con Failure

My 2013 diesel Captur's fog sensor is throwing errors, causing the AC, windshield spray, and mirror heating to fail. With 57125 km, could a defective cable/plug be the issue? Preliminary estimate is around 95€.

Hey, I've had something similar with my Captur. Same symptoms - air con not kicking in, frozen washer jets, and the heated mirrors were useless. The fog sensor was throwing up errors too. Have you checked the wiring harness near the sensor itself? They're known to get a bit corroded and cause issues. It's worth a look before you start replacing parts.

Thanks. Could you elaborate on the wiring harness location and signs of corrosion? Is it easily accessible?

It's near the base of the rearview mirror, where the sensor sits. You might need to remove the plastic cover to get a good look. Corrosion can look like green or white powder on the wires or connectors. Honestly, though, if you're not comfortable doing that, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and fix the wiring if that's the problem.

Thanks for the advice. I'm taking it to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. The root cause was indeed the wiring!
