Captur Hybrid MAF Sensor Symptoms

I'm having trouble with my 2022 Renault Captur hybrid. At 128205 km, I'm seeing high fuel consumption, intermittent engine stalls, a check engine light, and smoke on acceleration. Diagnostics point to the mass air flow meter (LMM). Could a bad MAF sensor cause these issues?

Sounds frustrating! I had similar gremlins with my old Volvo V70. Check engine light, rough idling, the whole shebang. Turned out to be a dodgy MAF sensor. It’s like the car's brain getting scrambled signals about how much air is going in. Is the air intake path clear?

Thanks. I visually checked the air intake and see nothing obvious. How similar was your issue, considering the Volvo V70 is a different car?

The symptoms were almost identical, even if it was a different brand - like comparing a cat and a dog: different breeds, same basic needs! Given your symptoms and initial diagnosis, I'd strongly recommend getting the MAF sensor professionally checked. Save yourself the headache and potential for further damage.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I'll schedule a check with a technician. The repair will be about 365€. Thanks for the guidance.
