Captur Hybrid Throttle Issue

I'm seeing increased fuel consumption and difficulty starting my 2023 Renault Captur Hybrid with 63595 km. Could a defective throttle valve or accelerator pedal module be the cause? Has anyone had similar issues, maybe with the throttle position sensor or needing throttle cleaning?

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my 2018 Volvo XC60 hybrid. Higher fuel consumption and poor starting were the first signs. Did you notice any changes in engine idling, or perhaps a slight delay in acceleration? I'm wondering if it might be related to the engine throttle needing some cleaning. Have you tried any basic diagnostics yet?

Thanks. Now that you mention engine idling, it does seem slightly erratic at times. I haven't attempted any diagnostics myself, as I lack the equipment and expertise. The symptoms do seem consistent with a throttle valve issue. Did your Volvo exhibit similar idling behavior before you resolved the problem?

Yes, the erratic idling was definitely there. It's hard to be certain without proper diagnostic tools, but from my experience, it does sound like it could be throttle-related. In my case, the issue was indeed a malfunctioning component within the throttle system. Given your vehicle's symptoms and the mileage, I would strongly recommend taking it to a reputable workshop for a proper assessment. It's better to catch it early before it causes further damage.

I appreciate your advice. Based on your experience and the symptoms, I decided to take the Captur to a workshop. It turned out to be a defective accelerator pedal module, which affected the throttle valve operation. The repair cost was approximately 205€. Thanks for confirming my suspicions and guiding me toward a solution.
