Captur hybrid won't start

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2022 Renault Captur hybrid. It's got about 138k km and suddenly refuses to start. The engine just won't turn over. I'm getting no engine surge or anything, just silence. I suspect an ECU issue, but I'm not sure where to start. Any ideas before I dive into engine diagnostics?

Hello, I had a similar experience with my 2018 Opel Insignia, though it wasn't a hybrid. It turned out to be something surprisingly simple. Have you checked your battery cable connections? Are they clean and tight?

That's interesting. I assumed it was something more complex. You mean the actual physical connections to the battery terminals? What kind of symptoms were you experiencing?

Yes, exactly. The connections on mine looked okay at a glance, but they were corroded underneath. This caused an intermittent connection. The car would sometimes start and sometimes not, with no obvious pattern. It might be worth getting it to a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! I checked the battery connections, and you were spot on. They were indeed loose and corroded. Cleaned them up, tightened everything, and it started right away. The final repair cost was only 155€, which is amazing. I was expecting a much larger bill. I really appreciate your help!
