Car wipers suddenly stopped working

Alright, I've got a head-scratcher here. The car wipers on my 2012 Mini Roadster diesel have suddenly stopped working. No movement at all. I scanned the error memory, and it shows a fault related to the wiper system. I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection somewhere in the steering column. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their car wipers? I really don’t want to start swapping out the wiper motor or wiper blade without being sure.

A defective cable or plug connection is plausible given the error code. Verify the continuity of the wiring harness leading to the wiper motor and wiper switch. Examine the connector pins for corrosion or damage.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not that familiar with checking the wiring harness. Could you tell me where exactly I can find the connector pins and the wiper motor in my Mini Roadster?

Given your limited experience, it is advisable to have a qualified technician inspect the wiper system. Continuing without proper diagnostics may result in further damage. Your suspicion of a faulty wiper switch is a common occurrence and the error memory confirms that.

Just wanted to give an update: It turned out to be a faulty wiper switch. The workshop replaced it, and now the car wipers are working like new. It set me back 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
