Cavalier parking assist failure
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier is experiencing a parking assist failure, indicated by an error code. The initial suspicion is a faulty cable or plug. A similar issue in another vehicle was caused by a faulty blind spot sensor wire, suggesting it could be worth checking both ultrasonic and blind spot sensors. The recommended solution is to consult a technician for a thorough diagnosis and repair.

I focused primarily on the ultrasonic sensors. Is there a known issue with the blind spot sensors that might also trigger the parking assist failure?

Well, on my BMW, it turned out a faulty blind spot sensor wire was causing interference with the whole parking assist system. Might be worth a quick look before you start tearing everything apart. Though, honestly, if a cable's gone bad, it's a pain. I ended up just taking mine to a workshop.

Thanks for sharing that. Given the potential complexity and cost, I'll probably take it to a technician. I'm estimating around 95€ for the fix. I appreciate it.

Sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen with my old BMW a while back. The parking sensors went haywire and threw an error code. Did you check the blind spot sensors or just the ultrasonic sensors?
