Ccrosser Running Rich

Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked the spark plugs yet, that's a good shout. Is it a big job to check them on the Ccrosser? And if the spark plugs are okay, is there anything else I should be looking at before I start thinking about replacing the injectors? Like, could it be a sensor issue throwing things off?

Checking the spark plugs on the Ccrosser isn't too difficult, you'll need a spark plug socket and a bit of patience. As for other potential causes, yes, a faulty sensor could also be to blame. The oxygen sensor, for example, provides feedback to the engine control unit (ECU) about the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. If it's faulty, it could be sending incorrect data, causing the ECU to inject too much fuel. However, given your symptoms and the mileage, a defective fuel injector remains a strong possibility. It might be worth getting a diagnostic scan to pinpoint the exact issue before throwing parts at it. A workshop can easily diagnose the faulty injector. I had to replace one on mine, and it fixed the problem instantly.

I took it to a workshop as you suggested. Turns out you were spot on - it was a defective injector! They replaced it, and the car is running perfectly now. Cost me 515€ all in. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Ccrosser, although I have to say that I did not experience jerking when accelerating. Running rich usually means your air-fuel ratio is off – too much fuel, not enough air. A defective injection valve/injector could definitely be the culprit, messing with the fuel delivery. Have you tried checking the spark plugs? Sometimes bad spark plugs can cause incomplete combustion, leading to a rich mixture.
