Celica Overheating Electric Fan

My 2001 Toyota Celica with a gasoline engine is overheating. The electric fan doesn't seem to be working. The car has 187295 km. I suspect a bad cable or plug. Anyone seen this before?

Overheating Celica? Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue. The electric fan was the culprit. Check the fan clutch too, man. Does your temp gauge go nuts?

Could you tell me more about the electric fan issue you had, and were there any other symptoms besides the temperature gauge?

Yeah, sure thing. The fan straight up wasn't spinning, even when the engine was hot enough to fry an egg! I tried jiggling some wires, but no luck. Ended up taking it to a workshop and they confirmed it was a dodgy connection somewhere. Honestly, unless you're a whiz with electrics, just get a pro to look at it. It's not worth the headache and potential for more damage.

I took it to a mechanic as you suggested. They found and fixed a bad connection, and that solved the overheating. The repair cost 95€.
