Celica temperature sensor issue

Hey, I'm having a weird problem with my 2005 Toyota Celica, it's got a gasoline engine. I got this error popping up related to the outside temperature sensor. Now, the air conditioning won't kick on, which is super annoying, and I swear the windshield sprayers froze up even though it wasn't that cold. Plus, the mirror heaters aren’t working either! Anyone seen anything like this? I've checked the fuses, and they seem okay. The car has 80789 km on it.

Sounds like a real headache! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, although the symptoms were a little different. Are all of those systems using the outside temperature reading as an input? It's possible they're designed to shut down or behave differently based on that reading. What kind of error code are you getting?

That's a good point about the systems being linked. I'm not sure if they all use the same sensor, to be honest. I'd have to check the wiring diagrams. Is this temperature reading also used on the instrument cluster to see the outside temperature? And about the error code, do you mean the number? I will have to check again!

Yeah, exactly the code number. That will narrow things down massively. And yes, on my Astra, the outside temp sensor fed into the climate control, mirror heaters, and the display on the dash. It's likely the Celica is similar. I think I would get this checked by a workshop. It could be a faulty wire or connection. On my Astra it only cost 85€.

Okay, thanks for the help! Based on your experience and the error code, it seems like a trip to the shop is the next step! I will let the workshop check all the cable or plug connections. If I'm lucky, it's nothing more than that and stays below 100€! Thanks again!
