Changed driving behavior and excessive rocking - 2019 BMW 2 Series model

Hi everyone, I drive a 2019 BMW 2 Series model with a diesel engine and now have 46750 km on the clock. I've noticed recently that my car is uneven on the road and bounces all over the place. After my last bad experience with the mechanic, I suspect a problem with the ride height controller. Have any of you had similar problems and can share your experiences with the garage? Would appreciate any advice and testimonials! Regards

Summary of the thread

A 2019 BMW 2 Series owner is experiencing uneven road handling and excessive bouncing, suspecting an issue with the ride height controller. Another BMW owner shared a similar experience, where a defective control rod on the sensor was the cause, costing €110 to fix. The suggested solution is to visit a garage to check and possibly replace the ride height controller, as this resolved the problem for others.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hello, no problem, you're welcome! In my case, the control rod on the sensor was defective, which cost me €110. It wasn't exactly cheap, but since then everything has been running like clockwork, especially with regard to the limitation of the functionality of the height sensor, which the mechanics fortunately got under control. There have been no further problems since then. I hope you have the same luck and get your car back on the road! Best regards

Hi, that really sounds like a relief! Thanks for sharing those details with me. It doesn't sound as expensive as I had feared, so I will have to pay my garage a visit. Hopefully everything goes just as well for me. Thanks again! Best regards

Hi buddy, I drive a 2016 BMW 4 series model and had similar symptoms as you described. Irregularities in road holding and too much bounce, you name it. On the last visit to the garage it turned out it was actually a problem with the ride height controller. The mechanics had to replace it to solve the problem. It wasn't an easy job, but luckily it wasn't a huge amount of damage.

Hi, thanks for your reply! Interesting that you also had the controllers. Can you remember how much you had to pay for the repair? Has anything else caused problems since then? Kind regards

Hello, I have an app that I have paid for and is activated for BMW vehicles, but I cannot read out a simple error without taking out an additional subscription. I'm a professional and don't need any advice, just direction. Unfortunately, no chance. So the app is useless for me and not worth the money!
