Charge Air Temperature Sensor Error

Hi. I've got a 2016 Peugeot 3008 hybrid with 100161 km on the clock. Recently, the check engine light popped up, and I've noticed a distinct reduction in engine power. There's also this noticeable whistling noise, almost like a loud hissing sound, whenever I accelerate. I scanned the error memory, and it's pointing to a charge air temperature sensor error. From what I've read, it might be a defective cable or plug connection to the sensor. Has anyone else run into this?

Good day. I am sorry to hear about the issue you are facing. I own a Peugeot 3008 as well, although it is a slightly different model. I recall experiencing something similar last year. The symptoms you described sound eerily familiar. Was the error message you received specifically related to the air sensor, or did it mention anything else?

Thanks for the quick response. The error message was pretty specific – 'Charge Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction'. Did your error message mention anything similar, or was it a different code entirely? And did you also have that whistling noise too?

Ah, yes. I reviewed my service records and the error code was indeed related to the air temperature sensor. Now that you mention the whistling noise when accelerating, that definitely confirms it. I would suggest taking your 3008 to a trusted workshop for a proper diagnosis. They should be able to pinpoint the exact cause and offer a solution before it potentially causes more damage.

Okay, thanks for confirming my suspicions and sharing your experience. I'll get it booked in at the workshop ASAP. It was indeed the cable to the sensor, just like I thought. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help.
