Check Engine light and warning light illuminate on Opel Combo 2012 - suspected problems with the fuel filler flap release mechanism

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2012 Opel Combo, gasoline, with 75,420 km mileage. My check engine light and the warning light in the speedometer are on and it shows an error stored. I suspect it could be the fuel filler flap release mechanism, but I'm not sure. Has anyone had similar problems before and how was it handled at the garage? Had a bad experience last time and would like to avoid that. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Opel Combo owner is experiencing issues with the check engine and warning lights, suspecting a problem with the fuel filler flap release mechanism. A similar issue was resolved for another Opel owner by replacing a defective linkage, which required dismantling some parts of the car. The repair was successful, and the problem did not recur. The owner plans to consult a mechanic to address the issue.

Hi, I drive a 2009 Opel Insignia and had a similar problem. My linkage was defective. They had to replace the linkage at the garage. It was not a small problem as the linkage has a critical function. They had to dismantle some parts of the car to reach it and then reinstall everything. Although this was annoying, everything worked fine again afterwards. Hope you get your problem sorted too!

Hey, thanks for the answer! It's really good to know that I'm not alone in this. Stupid question maybe, but can you remember what you paid for the repair? And have you had any other problems with the linkage since then or did something else come up? Thanks and best regards!

Hey, sure, no problem, I still remember this repair well. I paid something for the repair of the "defective linkage", namely €210.0. Of course, that's not a lot of money, but since then it's been running smoothly again, no more problems with the linkage. Incidentally, the problem with the "unlocking of the fuel filler flap faulty" was also solved during the workshop visit, everything is now working perfectly. So, cheer up, you'll have to get through it! Greetings!

Hey, thanks a lot, that's a bit of a relief. It's annoying that you have to pay for it, but if everything is OK afterwards, that's some consolation. And it's good to know that the unlocking of the fuel filler flap was OK too. I'll take it up with my mechanic and hope that he can fix it just as well. Thanks again and best regards!
