Chevrolet Spin Air Suspension Fault
Summary of the thread
The 2012 Chevrolet Spin diesel is experiencing issues with its air suspension, specifically the air suspension bellows valve, leading to a failure to lift, leaning, and error messages. Possible causes include a defective suspension airbag valve or a leak, as indicated by the compressor running excessively. Suggested solutions involve checking for hissing sounds around the air springs or valve block and using a scan tool to identify the fault. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty valve, which was resolved by a suspension specialist.

Good shout on the compressor! I can hear it whirring away longer than usual, so definitely sounds like it's overcompensating. Hissing... I'll have to get my head in there and listen closer, but with my hearing, it might be tricky. When you say 'proper scan tool,' are we talking dealer-level diagnostics, or will a decent aftermarket one do?

A decent aftermarket one should be able to read the specific fault code related to the valve. However, dealer-level tools often provide more detailed information and diagnostic routines. Given the symptoms and the compressor running overtime, it's pointing squarely at a leak in the valve or airbag itself. Best to get it to a workshop with the right gear.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice! Ended up taking it to a suspension specialist. You were spot on – the valve on the air bellow was indeed knackered. 590€ lighter, but she's riding smooth again. Thanks!

Sounds like the valve, alright. Is the compressor running constantly, trying to compensate for the leak? Have you checked for any obvious hissing sounds around the air springs or the valve block? A proper scan tool should pinpoint the exact valve causing the issue, if it's an electrical fault.
