CHR Active Hood Fault

Yeah, the spring actuators are triggered! The hood popped up a little. So, if it's the acceleration sensor, is it something I can fix myself, or should I just take it to a workshop?

Since the actuators have already been triggered, and there's a stored error, it's highly probable that the acceleration sensor is indeed defective. Replacing the sensor requires specific tools and knowledge to properly reset the system and ensure it functions correctly. Furthermore, the triggered actuators might need professional attention. I'd strongly advise against attempting a DIY repair in this case; a qualified workshop is the best option.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were right – it was the acceleration sensor. Cost me 315€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

The active hood system uses sensors to detect pedestrian impacts. When triggered, spring actuators lift the hood to create more space between the hood and the engine, reducing injury. The error code and airbag light suggest a fault in the system, possibly a defective acceleration sensor. Are the spring actuators triggered? Has the hood popped up?
