CHR Hybrid Stalling Jerking

My 2022 Toyota CHR Hybrid is running rough and stalls sometimes, especially when idling. It also feels like the car is jerking when I accelerate. I have around 92000 km on the clock and the check engine light is on. Could it be related to fuel delivery? Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Toyota CHR Hybrid was experiencing rough running, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. These symptoms suggested a potential issue with the fuel delivery system, specifically the fuel pressure sensor. A suggestion was made to inspect the sensor and its connections, as a defective sensor or loose cable could cause such problems. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed a loose connection in the fuel pressure sensor, which was fixed, resolving the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my CHR hybrid. The symptoms you describe, especially the stalling and jerking, sound familiar. The check engine light often accompanies fuel-related problems. Have you considered checking the fuel pressure sensor? A defective sensor can cause those problems. Fuel pressure sensors measure the pressure of the fuel being delivered to the engine, and the ECU uses this data to adjust the fuel injectors. It is possible the cable or plug connection is defective.

Thanks for the quick reply! A fuel pressure sensor? Where exactly is that located, and is it something I could check myself before taking it to a workshop? I'm not super mechanically inclined, but I'm willing to give it a shot if it's relatively straightforward.

While you could try to locate and inspect the fuel pressure sensor and its wiring, it's often buried within the engine compartment. Also, without diagnostic equipment, you can't be 100% certain that's the problem. Given the stalling and rough running, I'd recommend taking it to a qualified workshop. They can properly diagnose the issue and ensure it's not something more serious affecting your fuel delivery system. It really does sound like the same problem that I had.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was indeed the fuel pressure sensor and its connection. Apparently, the cable was a bit loose. They fixed it, and everything's running smoothly again! The repair cost was only 95€ which is great. Really appreciate the help!
