CHR Transmission Issues

Hey, I'm having transmission issues with my 2016 Toyota CHR with a gasoline engine. It's got 84408 km on the clock. Lately, the automatic transmission has been acting up – implausible shifting, transmission indicator light coming on, and it sometimes doesn't shift properly, even going into emergency mode. I scanned it with my code reader and it points to undervoltage causing the transmission to freak out with worn out oil. Anyone else experience this?

Sounds familiar. I have a CHR, and I had similar transmission problems. Was the shifting generally rough, especially between 2nd and 3rd?

Exactly! Rough shifting between 2nd and 3rd is spot on. Did yours go into emergency mode too? What did you end up doing about it?

Yep, emergency mode happened a few times. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the low voltage damaged the transmission oil. They changed the oil and reset the system. I'd get yours checked out by a professional.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to my local shop, and you were right! The oil was indeed gone. New oil and a system reset, and it cost me about 240€. Runs like new now!
