Thanks for sharing your Swift repair experience. It matches my problems with the Ciaz alternator. Good to hear the charging system fix worked well for you. My alternator replacement completely solved the engine misfire and electrical troubles too. Did you remember the total cost for your alternator replacement and serpentine belt work? Also curious if any other electrical gremlins showed up since the repair?

Had the Generator replaced last month actually, total came to 960€ including parts and labor. The mechanic found the old one had a voltage drop issue causing the battery to run low. They installed a new serpentine belt while doing the work since it showed some wear. No electrical problems at all since the repair. The starter motor spins perfectly now and all the dashboard warning lights cleared up. The engine runs smoother too, those occasional misfires completely disappeared once the charging system was working properly again. Really glad I got it fixed when I did. The mechanic mentioned the failing Generator could have left me stranded if I had waited much longer. The new one should be good for at least another 100000km of trouble-free driving.

I finally got my Ciaz fixed at a certified shop that specializes in electrical systems. The alternator replacement cost 890€ including parts and labor. The mechanic discovered significant voltage drop from the failing alternator that was draining the battery. The repair process took about 4 hours. They replaced both the alternator and serpentine belt, then thoroughly tested the charging system. The starter motor now cranks strongly and all those annoying dashboard lights are gone. Best of all, no more engine misfires or flickering headlights. Really glad I followed your advice about finding a qualified shop. The comprehensive testing they did confirmed the alternator was the root cause. After two weeks of driving, the car runs like new again. Definitely worth getting it done right to prevent any potential damage to other electrical components.

I experienced similar alternator issues with my 2018 Suzuki Swift. The symptoms matched exactly, dimming lights, weak engine performance, and difficult starts. After proper diagnosis, it turned out the alternator issue was causing strain on the entire electrical system. The alternator replacement was definitely a serious repair that required attention from a certified mechanic. The failing alternator was not only affecting the battery charge but also causing issues with other car electronics and creating occasional engine misfires. The repair involved: Complete alternator replacement, New drive belt installation, Testing of the charging system, Battery load testing, Checking all electrical connections The whole process took about 4-5 hours at the shop. After replacement, all electrical issues resolved immediately, no more flickering lights or starting problems. Given your mileage and symptoms, this sounds very similar to what I experienced. For proper diagnosis, look for a shop that specializes in car electronics and can perform comprehensive charging system tests before replacing parts. The alternator is a critical component that needs proper installation to prevent damage to other electrical systems. Since my repair, the car has run perfectly for 45000km with no electrical issues. This kind of problem typically requires immediate attention to prevent getting stranded with a dead battery or potential damage to other components.
