Citan audio system failure

My 2018 Mercedes Citan diesel has a dead audio system The screen is blank, no radio, no Bluetooth, nothing A mechanic said there's an error stored, and it is likely a defective display They quoted me 725€ to fix it Has anyone else had this problem Is there anything I can check myself before I shell out that kind of cash I can't even use dashboard controls for basic stuff like volume control Plus there is some static noise coming from the speakers Any ideas

I also own a Citan, and a similar thing happened to me last year The whole sound system just died Have you checked the fuses related to the audio system There should be a diagram in your owner's manual Also, is the system completely dead, or are you getting any kind of display at all Any static noise Is the Bluetooth problem new or has this always been the case

I have checked the fuses, all seem fine The display is completely blank, no signs of life whatsoever The static noise is new, it started just before the system gave up completely And regarding the Bluetooth problem, I didn't have any issues connecting my phone before, it recognized the device without problems

Okay, if the fuses are fine and the display is totally dead, with the added static noise, it does sound like the head unit itself might be faulty Unfortunately, there's not much else you can easily check yourself without specialist equipment I ended up having to take mine to a workshop, and they replaced the whole unit It wasn't cheap, but it fixed the problem The volume control was also inoperative until the repair

It sounds like I'm facing the same fate I hoped it would be a simple fix, but it seems I have no choice but to take it to the shop I will replace the display as suggested, hopefully, it solves the problem finally
