Citan electric power window issue

My 2023 Mercedes Citan electric engine has a problem The power windows suddenly stopped working I checked the fuses and they are fine My diagnostic tool shows an error related to the window control circuit I suspect a faulty window regulator or power window switch Could it also be the window motor or window mechanism Has anyone seen this before I want to understand the complexity before disassembling the door panel

Sounds like a pain The error code definitely points to the window regulator or something in that circuit Before you dive in too deep, have you tried checking the wiring harness where it enters the door These harnesses can fatigue and break wires with repeated opening and closing of the door It's like bending a paperclip back and forth; eventually, it snaps Also, are all the other electrical functions in the door working like the door lock and speakers

Good point about the wiring harness I'll give that a close inspection The door lock works perfectly, and the speaker is also functioning normally Does the fact that other electrics in the door are working eliminate the window motor and window track as potential culprits Or could a failure in the window mechanism be isolated enough to only affect the window control

The fact that the other electrics are working does suggest it's more localized to the window regulator circuit itself, so you're likely on the right track While it could be a purely mechanical window mechanism issue jamming things up, the error code strongly suggests an electrical fault Given the symptoms and the error code, I'd say a defective power window switch or the window regulator itself is the prime suspect Honestly, tracing the wiring and testing the switch might be more time-consuming than just replacing the switch If that doesn't fix it, then the regulator is the next most likely culprit Maybe it is time to visit the workshop

Thanks for the insights I appreciate the help After a bit more digging and testing, it turned out to be the power window switch, exactly as suspected I replaced it, cleared the error code, and everything is working smoothly again Total cost: 200€ Definitely worth checking the simple things first before assuming the worst
