A discharged or defective battery certainly aligns with the symptoms you describe. Electric seats, especially with memory functions, can be quite sensitive to voltage drops. Have you checked the battery's voltage with a multimeter? Also, are there any other electrical components exhibiting unusual behavior?

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a multimeter, so I haven't been able to check the voltage directly. As for other electrical components, nothing else seems to be acting up. Everything else seems normal, lights, infotainment, etc. If it is the battery, is it likely to be a simple replacement or is there a risk of further damage to the seat adjustment mechanism?

Given that other systems seem fine, it's less likely there's extensive damage to the seat mechanism itself. However, a heavily discharged battery can sometimes cause modules to log spurious errors. I would recommend taking it to a workshop so that they can perform a diagnostic check. They can also check the battery. Expect to pay around 290€ for the repair.

Thanks for the info, appreciate the advice. Dropped it off at the workshop this morning. Turns out it was indeed a defective battery, causing the electric seat to malfunction. They replaced the battery, cleared the error codes, and the seat adjustment is working perfectly now. Cost me 290€ as predicted.
