When you say 'pressure switch', is that the same as the transmission oil pressure sensor? Can I check the oil level myself, or should I take it to a pro?

Yes the pressure switch is the transmission oil pressure sensor. Checking the level is possible yourself, but depending on your mechanical experience, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. If the oil level is ok, then it's most likely a faulty sensor. If the sensor is faulty, expect costs around 365€ to get it fixed.

I took it to a mechanic and you were spot on. Gearbox oil was indeed low. Topped it up, cleared the error, and everything seems to be running smoothly again. Thanks!

Sensor fault plus shifting issues often points to low oil level. On my old Volvo I had similar transmission issues, slipping gears and a transmission fault light. The pressure switch was faulty due to low oil. Check the oil level first.
