Citroen C2 Diesel Injection Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Citroen C2 diesel is experiencing higher fuel consumption, reduced power, stalling when idling, and smoke during acceleration. The air filter is confirmed to be in good condition, suggesting the issue might be related to the injection system. A similar case was resolved by addressing a faulty electrical connection to the injectors, which can be affected by vibrations. Checking for loose connections, corroded terminals, or damaged wires is recommended, or consulting a professional mechanic for diagnosis and repair.

No, I haven't checked the electrical connections to the injectors yet. Where should I start looking? What are the telltale signs of a bad connection?

I'm not a mechanic, so I can't give you a step-by-step guide. But the injectors are attached to the engine block, with wires and plugs going into them. Look for loose connections, corroded terminals, or damaged wires. If you're not comfortable, take it to a workshop. They diagnosed a faulty connector on one of my injectors and it cost 95€ including parts and labor.

Thanks for the advice! Sounds like I'm dealing with the same issue. I'll book it into a local garage to get it checked out. Hopefully, it's a simple fix. I'll let you know how it goes!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms: loss of power, rough idling, and black smoke on acceleration. For me, it was the injection system – a dodgy connection, either a cable or a plug. It's a common issue because of the vibrations. Have you checked the electrical connections to the injectors?
