Citroen C3 Electrical Errors
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Citroen C3 is experiencing sporadic electrical errors, including flickering lights, system failures, and control unit shutdowns. The issue might be caused by a defective cable connection to the BUS system. A similar problem in another vehicle was linked to corrosion near the main ECU connector. Cleaning the corrosion didn't fully resolve the issue, suggesting a professional diagnosis and possibly checking the entire wiring harness might be necessary.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Corrosion, you say? Interesting. I hadn't considered that specifically. I assumed a loose connection, but corrosion could explain the intermittent nature. Where exactly on your Astra did you find the corrosion? Was it near a specific module?

It was near the main ECU, actually. Noticed some green gunk on the connector. Cleaned it up, but the problem persisted. Eventually, I had to get the entire harness checked by a shop. Honestly, I'd advise you to get a professional diagnosis; could save you a lot of headaches.

Appreciate the insight. The green gunk tip is especially helpful. Looks like a trip to the workshop is unavoidable. Estimated repair costs are around 155€, so at least it's not catastrophic. Thanks again!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my 2012 Opel Astra, believe it or not. Random electrical gremlins, control units acting up... Did you check the wiring harness for any signs of corrosion or damage? These modern cars are so reliant on these systems these days.
