Citroen C3 starting problem

My 2020 Citroen C3 diesel is acting up. It's got 146151 km on the clock. Lately, it's been a real struggle to start, and feels like it's lost a lot of power. Plus, the error memory keeps throwing codes. I suspect it's the camshaft sensor, maybe a dodgy cable or connection. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar! I have a Citroen C3 too, not sure of the year, but I had similar symptoms a while back. Starting problems and feeling underpowered. Have you checked the crankshaft?

Crankshaft, huh? I was so focused on the camshaft sensor because of the error code. What exactly happened with yours?

Well, for me the car was starting like a tractor and the engine was misfiring. It turned out the engine timing was off and like you suspected, it was the sensor. I'd suggest popping it to the workshop before you do real damage

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. Turns out it was indeed the camshaft sensor, exactly as I thought, and the cable was loose! Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Runs like new now!
