Citroen C3 Tire Pressure Warning Light

I am experiencing some frustrating issues with my 2021 Citroen C3 diesel, with 115842 km on the clock. The tire pressure warning light is constantly on, accompanied by a 'Tire pressure too low' error message on the speedometer. I've checked the tire pressures manually, and they are all correct. Diagnostic tools confirm the error is stored in the error memory. Given these symptoms, could the tire pressure sensor battery be the culprit?

I had similar tire pressure issues with my 2018 Opel Astra. You're dealing with 'TPMS' – Tire Pressure Monitoring System. These systems rely on sensors inside the tires, often integrated with the air valve. The error message sounds familiar. Did you check the air valve?

You mentioned checking the air valve. What exactly should I be looking for? I assumed that if the tire was holding pressure, the valve itself was fine. Is there a specific issue with the valve that could trigger a TPMS error?

Yes, the sensor is often integrated with the air valve. In my case, the sensor battery was indeed the issue. The pressure was fine, but the sensor stopped transmitting. You'll probably need to visit a workshop to get it checked and potentially replaced. Expect costs around 280€ for the repair.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It sounds like a faulty sensor is the most likely cause. I appreciate you confirming the potential repair cost; this has helped me make my decision. I'll head to the workshop to get the TPMS checked out.
