Citroen C4 electric battery issue

Hello, I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2022 Citroen C4 electric. It has 183700 km on it. The battery seems heavily discharged. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, weak or flickering lights, and an error is stored in the error memory. The engine starts weakly. I suspect a problem with the battery charging system. Any thoughts?

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series, though it wasn't electric. Low battery, strange electrical issues... Is the alternator charging the battery correctly? The battery control sensor might be faulty.

Thanks for the insight! You mentioned a 'battery control sensor'. Could you elaborate on what that does and where it's located? I understand the alternator's role in charging, but I'm not familiar with this sensor.

Certainly. The battery control sensor monitors the battery's state of charge, temperature, and current flow and reports that information to the engine control unit (ECU). It's usually attached directly to the battery terminal. Considering your symptoms, a defective sensor could definitely cause those issues. I ended up taking my car to the mechanic to get it resolved.

Alright, I appreciate the information. I took it to the workshop, and as you suggested, the battery sensor was indeed defective. Repair cost was 315€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
