Thanks. Any specific points to focus on when inspecting the wiring and connections?

On my BMW, the wiring near the sensor became brittle from engine heat, causing connection problems. Check for damage, corrosion, or loose connections. If the wiring is good, the sensor is likely bad. A workshop can replace it and run diagnostics. It cost me 550€ at the time.

Thanks for sharing your experience and the wiring harness guidance. Given the complexity and tools needed, I'll book a workshop appointment. They quoted 695€ for the repair. I will post the outcome.

I had similar issues with my 2018 BMW 3 series. Your symptoms match camshaft sensor failure. The engine control unit uses that sensor for ignition timing. A bad sensor causes poor starting, stalling, and the check engine light. Have you checked the sensor's wiring?
