Citroen C8 Undervoltage Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Citroen C8 diesel was experiencing an undervoltage issue, leading to poor starting, failing systems, and weak or flickering lights. The initial suspicion was a weak battery. A similar past issue suggested checking the battery health and considering the alternator as a potential cause. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing a defective battery, which restored normal function.

Thanks! I haven't checked the battery health recently, but it's probably a few years old. How did you resolve your issue? Was it a faulty battery, alternator, or something else?

In my case, the problem was a heavily discharged battery due to a faulty cell. I had it replaced at a workshop. Given your symptoms and the potential age of your battery, it might be worth going to a professional for diagnostics.

Thanks! I took it to a local mechanic, and they confirmed it was a defective battery. They replaced it, and everything seems to be working fine now. The repair cost me 290€.

I had a similar problem with my C8 a while back with very similar symptoms. Have you had the battery health checked recently? It could also be an alternator issue, causing insufficient power supply. I suggest investigating voltage drops. How old is your battery?
